What Are JCI National Projects?
JCI Philippines’ National Projects are large-scale, impact-driven programs designed to tackle some of the most pressing social issues in the country. They are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are implemented in collaboration with local chapters across the Philippines.
From education and public health to restorative justice and community resilience, these projects are more than just short-term outreach. They are long-term commitments to nation-building through responsible leadership.
We JCI Alabang, not only participate, we lead. We encourage our members to design, implement, and scale these projects within our own communities, strengthening the national mission while meeting local needs head-on.
Empowering the Future, One Backpack at a Time
Aligned with: UN SDG #4 – Quality Education
One of the most recognized national initiatives, Bags to School (BTS), is designed to support young Filipino learners, especially those from underserved communities, by providing them with essential school supplies and backpacks.
In a country where many families struggle with back-to-school expenses, BTS offers relief and opportunity. Through generous partnerships and volunteer efforts, JCI Alabang helps bridge the gap between poverty and potential, ensuring that every child has a fair chance to learn, dream, and succeed.
Each backpack delivered carries more than just notebooks and pencils. Tt carries hope, dignity, and a future.
Restoring Dignity and Rebuilding Lives
Restoring Dignity and Rebuilding Lives
Aligned with: UN SDG #16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
Beyond Prison Walls is one of JCI Philippines’ most meaningful restorative justice programs. Designed for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), this initiative offers more than just aid. It provides a pathway to rehabilitation and reintegration.
JCI Alabang’s involvement in this project focuses on:
- Promoting human rights awareness
- Offering educational and sports-based programs
- Creating opportunities for skill-building and cultural engagement
- Encouraging second chances for those ready to rebuild
By empowering PDLs with knowledge, purpose, and dignity, we help create a justice system that values not only accountability but also compassion and reintegration into society.
Healthcare and Hope for Underserved Communities
Aligned with: UN SDG #3 – Good Health and Well-Being
Health is a human right, yet access to medical care remains a privilege for many. That’s where Got Heart? Steps in a comprehensive Community Health Awareness Program initiated by JCI Philippines to promote holistic wellness in marginalized areas.
With JCI Alabang’s active support, this project includes:
- Free medical and dental missions
- Eye checkups and vision support
- Health education seminars
- Mental and emotional wellness counseling
- Distribution of free medicines and hygiene kits
Our approach addresses the health of the mind, body, and spirit, empowering individuals to live not just longer, but better. Each mission is also a step toward achieving health equity, where no one is left behind because of income, geography, or social status.
