Mental Health Support
Grey Matters Wellness Initiative
Grey Matters Wellness Initiative is JCI Alabang’s program dedicated to promoting mental health and overall well-being, recognizing that strong leadership begins with emotional balance and support. It provides a safe space for members to share experiences, access helpful mental health resources, and post encouraging messages through the Gratitude and Positivity Wall, fostering awareness, compassion, and community care. Through Grey Matters Happy Hour and Fellowship, members can unwind, open up, recharge, and build genuine connections through meaningful conversations and shared laughter in a supportive environment. In 2025, activities included Happy Hour on Jan 13 at Oriental Palace, Apr 7 at Kinalola, Jun 21 for Happy Hour and Ketchup Time at BF Homes, Jul 13 for Happy Hour and Ketchup Time at Kinalola, and the Mar 22 #Alabangon Fellowship at Music 21.
Shared Strength
Our Safe Space Stories
Our Safe Space allows members to openly share personal experiences in a supportive environment. In “Getting Through It: A Practical Take on Overcoming Depression,” Admore Alzate reflects on feeling disconnected, unmotivated, and quietly sad after a difficult personal experience. When those feelings didn’t fade, he began taking small steps to regain control—building a routine, staying active, opening up to someone he trusted, finding simple calming moments, and practicing patience. His story reminds us that healing is personal, gradual, and begins with one small step each day.
- Safe Expression: A supportive space to share experiences openly.
- Recognizing Struggles: Acknowledging feelings of disconnection & sadness.
- Taking Small Steps: Routine, movement, conversation, and simple joys.
- Healing Gradually : Growth takes time and starts one step at a time.

Establishing a routine
A consistent wake-up time, making my bed, and setting small tasks helped bring structure when everything else felt uncertain.

Moving my body.
Light exercise or simply stretching gave me a sense of control over my space and energy.

Opening up
Eventually, I confided in someone I trusted. I didn’t need advice, just a listening ear. That alone made a difference.

Being patient with myself
I stopped expecting immediate change. Some days were tough, but I showed up for myself, even if just in small ways.

Gratitude and Positivity Wall
A shared space where members can post encouraging messages, reflections, and words of appreciation. It spreads optimism, strengthens connection, and reminds everyone that even small positivity makes a big difference.
Wellness Tips
Tips for Managing your Mental Wellbeing
Let’s be honest, we know that life gets overwhelming. Between work deadlines, personal responsibilities, and everything in between, our mental health often takes a backseat. I’ve been there too smiling on the outside while quietly struggling inside. But over time, I’ve learned that taking care of your mental well-being isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. So today, I want to share a few personal tips that have helped me navigate the ups and downs. Maybe they’ll help you, too.
Talk it Out – Share your feelings with someone you trust; it lifts the weight off your shoulders.
Create a Safe Space – Take “me-time” for activities like reading, journaling, or listening to music.
Celebrate Small Wins – Appreciate even minor accomplishments and give yourself grace.
Practice Gratitude – Reflect on small things you’re thankful for to stay grounded.
Stay Connected – Engage with your community; support from others matters.
